All he wanted was silence, a drive home, and perhaps a quiet nod from Alfred before retreating into the cave.
But when he turned the corner toward where he’d left the Batmobile, silence was the last thing on the scene.
A small figure crouched by the back tires, a small shadow. Bruce paused, muscles tensing, eyes narrowing behind the cowl. The figure didn’t see him at first; small hands were busy with a wrench, struggling against a bolt that was far too strong.
