This is such an affirming, beautiful, exciting story. In Victorian England, Darcy is a 19yo widow, an archduchess who takes in 2 street urchins — Natasha & Clint — and the 2 .men who had been caring for them: Bucky and Steve. She hires Steve to paint her portrait and hires Bucky to be her escort in public bc men keep trying to compromise her. I love all the creative ways the side characters are included.

They write letters to each other while Apollo is stuck in Kurain, taking on the task of fixing their legal system. They both miss one another despite not admitting obviously; how much they care for each other seeps into the words they strikethrough. The author made the letters into pictures, which contributes a lot to the imersion; you can see their distinguished "handwriting", their mistakes, the paper they use to write on, their space management and decorations... Creative indeed!
They share casual stories, talk about nothing and everything at the same time but also delve into their issues. As they exchange letters, you see how much they trust one another and even at distance, their relationship grows. -
