Modernish AU set in 90's, based on some characters from The Arcana. I basically just loved writing scenes about my character with Muriel and eventually it became this.
Juniper Vaughn was born into a cursed bloodline, by average loses the people closest to her, and made a deal with the devil. Living in a city riddled with crime and cruelty, she tries to survive. She meets Muriel Warren, who is known as the Counts most loyal and vicious dog. He saves her, and the two form a unusual bond. Slowly, these two stubborn, lonely people figure out that in a very shitty world, all they need is each other.Murder, secrets, lots of snarky dialoge and a very gritty, rough Mountain man.
Tropes like 'who did this to you', are to blame for this.
Enjoy these two hard headed idiots falling for each other and fucking up :)
