Summary
For nearly 400 years, the world has suffered under the overarching rule of the Old Gods - cosmic beings who treat humanity as their own personal toys. In Victorian London, Blackbeards Crew has failed in another assassination attempt of the Emperor of the British Empire, the God who rules through Queen Victoria.
Meanwhile in Dorset, the household of the Bonnet family needs a new staff. The household suffers under a tense, cold atmosphere, as Alma's thirteenth birthday draw nearer.
Ed uses this opportunity to escape London. And, by bringing the 2 groups together, he brings forth secrets that have long been kept buried, and allows himself, Izzy and Stede to find a relationship that will shape not only themselves and their crew, but also the future.

And if he's doing it with money funding his 'study' thanks to his boss, Nigel Badminton, all the better. He's spent too many years left behind, and he's done.
Edward Teach, also known as the notorious hacker Blackbeard, has settled down to teach at a local university in an attempt to switch up the monotony of his life. Instead, he finds himself just as bored until he comes across an insane Professor that apparently invites men in full leather fetish gear to his office and discusses the price of bulk lube with his TA. He's fucking fascinated and, for the first time in a long time, excited about every new day to see what the maniac will do next.

His name is Ed, and he's a famous video game streamer on Twitch. Ed comes back, and back again, until they become real friends, inching ever closer to something more and helping each other grow in unexpected ways both separately and together.
