As the summer holidays rolled around and Kay was very much free to do whatever he wanted, he stumbled upon an old, hidden tab in his chrome browser. Ao3 statistics? Since when was that there, swimming amongst the hundreds of opened, "I'll read those later" gorgeous pieces of fanfiction? Catious, and now feeling guilty enough to click on it, he opened the tab.

With much more free time on his hands and the desire to die left behind with school duties, an idea was born.

Summary
Why were the Sidhe so antagonistic toward Merlin in the show? With him being the incarnation of Magic, and the prophecies connecting both him and Arthur to Avalon, why did there exist such animosity? I've written a few short fics exploring this. They've been sitting on my hard drive for ages, but with the surprising success of The Sundered Soul, I thought I'd post them. They are individual one-shots, but all connected in the same continuity.

After Arthur disobeyed his father and retrieved the Mortaeus flower for Merlin's cure, Arthur's frantic pleading to save Merlin led to a misunderstanding that actually convinced Uther to take the flower to Gaius.
Now all Arthur has to do is explain to Merlin why Uther thinks they are lovers.
And while Uther is supportive of the relationship, he requires it kept secret. But in his paranoia, Uther misinterprets every innocent interaction between the two as something far more intimate, to the embarrassment of everyone involved.
And then the knights begin showing up...
