Gloved hands gripped tightly at the armrests of his chair, leather creaking as he tensed for a fight he no longer understood the rules for. His pulse thrummed loudly in his ears while a representative at the head of the table went on about the quarterly budget, flowery excuses made for the more lavish expenditures in the report.
She was not with him.
He sat there and he could not feel Her no matter how far he reached for Her residual warmth, a stagnant void where She had once taken residence in his head and flowed freely through his veins. The very reason for why his heart still beats was simply gone, leaving him with nothing but disorientation and a slow-broiling rage to fill its place.
His Mother’s voice was not among the buzzing chatter of insects that filled this room.
Sephiroth, who is still under Jenova’s influence and currently not in the best mindset for anything regarding the Planet’s wellbeing, is the one that will have to change fate for the better.
AKA This is a FF7 time travel fix-it, but Jenova is one hell of a drug.

But now it’s oh so different because although he's gone back to the time he can never really go back to the time. He's a different person now but the people he never really stopped loving, who died or were lost and are now standing before him again exactly the same as before you lost them, don’t know that. They could never understand even if he told them. He can’t even apologize for all the ways he hurt them because it wasn’t them. All he can do now is gather all that splintered guilt and try to shape into something resembling a warped shield (he's never been an expert at that craft—a project this complex requires far more skilled hands than his scorched ones, but he's all there is) and make sure it doesn’t happen again. All he can offer any of them is this nameless haunted thing he calls love. Will he desperately try to go back to who he was or will he hope they can learn to love this new him?

They later learn that the men involved with threatening Cloud’s safety just so happen to be Genesis and Angeal’s ex-boyfriends. Genesis refuses to believe that one particular ex is a part of some scheme that is inflicting trauma onto Cloud. However, that same ex has displayed a dramatic personality shift that suggests he is being manipulated by another ex-boyfriend.
Genesis is forced to revisit his painful past to locate the perpetrator hurting the people that he cares for. Thankfully, Sephiroth and Cloud, along with Cloud's mysterious bodyguard, decide to join him on his search for answers.

To be fair, it's the last thing Cloud would expect to hear come out of his mouth. Everyone knows Zack gets around. It's not a secret. It's easy to do when your hickies don't last longer than ten minutes. He's got stories of being in five beds in one night. He's joked with Cloud that he's got, 'way too many dick appointments, Shiva's tits man, I need to stop flirting with people'. He, of course, did not stop flirting with people.

Summary
Sephiroth faces an unforeseen predicament while at the front lines in the war against Wutai. There is a mysterious baby in his tent, one with startling similarities to himself in fact. Transported to a strange land where nothing is what it seems, his only hope at making it to the center of the labyrinth is to rely on his wits and determination; and maybe some help from a strange degrading man, a terrifying beast, and a talking cat and dog.
Time is of the essence, lest Cloud lose Zack-and himself-to the Goblin King forever.
In other words, this is a sefikura version of Labyrinth with Cloud as Sarah, Sephiroth as Jareth, and Zack replacing Toby. No knowledge of Labyrinth is required to read/enjoy this story, although I do highly recommend watching the film regardless! It's just so dang good!
