    Ratio did not expect to ever go on more than one mission with Aventurine, nor did he anticipate that they would find a strange, if effective, working relationship with each other. He still wishes Aventurine was not so prone to recklessness, but he has been slowly seeing glimpses of what can only be an extremely sharp and intelligent mind behind the grandstanding and opulence Aventurine wears as masks.

    He’s scanning over the latest mission brief for him and Aventurine to work together on when he recieves a text. A glance shows that it’s Aventurine himself, who has likely also just gotten the same brief. He opens the message, which reads, “Don’t feel like going out for a meeting this time. Want to stop by my place and chat? I’ll arrange refreshments and pay for our next business dinner,” followed almost immediately by a winking emoji.

    Ratio and Aventurine continue working together, despite everyone including themselves thinking they would barely get through the first one. They start meeting each others' partners in the process.

    A young boy, 13 years of age, with hair the same shade of blue as the open sky on a summer day sets out on a journey to aim for the top on September 1st. He sweeps the competition and wins the Ever Grande Conference on April 30th. He wipes the floor with the Elite Four in the month of July. He crushes the current champion in mid-August. September 1st marks the start of his second year as a trainer. He's fourteen, he's faced terrorists head on in battle, he's fourteen, he's lived through legendary beasts trying to end the world, he's fourteen and he finally has friends. He's 14 and he's the newest Hoenn Champion.

    or – Steven Stone just so happens to be only a year older than the main protagonist of the Pokemon anime. This changes both everything and nothing at all.
