Eyes perking up, Yuri’s hands brushed over the object in her arms. “Ah, the crossbar… I was surprised to see it. Are you getting into puppeteering, perhaps?”
Giving a weirdly nervous laugh, Sayori rubbed the back of her head while glancing away. “Ahaha, yeah… you could say that.” For a moment, Yuri’s eyebrow raised in confusion, but she froze up as the bubbly girl suddenly met her eyes with a confident smile.
“You know… I could show you, if you’d like.”

It was not her daughter's job to worry about her mother. Conversely, however, it was definitely Molly's job to worry about her spawn. And she had been right to worry, clearly, if appearances were anything to go off of—and they always were.
"You mentioned you have a game today?"
Monika's eyes widened briefly, thrown off balance at the sudden shift in topic. "U-uh, yeah," she recovered eventually. "It's... it's just a scrimmage. Nothing huge." Her fork drew a small circle in the air as she diminished the importance of the event proportional to the size of the gesture. Then, she went back to her performance of someone at all interested in consuming the meal in front of them.
"I'm going to be downtown this afternoon for an appointment," Monika's eyes snapped up at that, and she silenced the incoming question by continuing her own thought in a slight rush. "I was thinking I might come watch you play." She managed to space the words into a normal cadence by the end, but her fingers twitched at the blunder.
"You... you want to do that?" Monika's voice was small, something just above a whisper, and it very nearly wasn't addressed to Molly at all.
"Of course I do. What kind of question is that?"Series
