The rigger looks at her. "He made it painfully clear that he was not coming back, Fortuna. He even said he would like to kill you, if I recall correctly. If you keep pretending that isn't the case, you're only going to wind up more upset."
"What? He's coming back! He just - he just does this sometimes!" They all stare, and she sucks in her cheeks to try to hide the scowl that is growing on her face. Finally, she can't do it anymore. She slams her fists down on the table. "I know my own fragging brother, guys! He's coming back." They still don't say anything. Gobbet looks over at Racter like she's trying to will him to say something so she doesn't have to. Gaichu and Is0bel glance at each other like they're having a wordless conversation. Racter just stares at her with one eyebrow raised slightly.
(Duncan leaves, and Sujin Wu is sure he'll be back. But until then, she's left to pick up the pieces of everything that has happened in the last six months.)
