The aftermath is always disconcerting, but Shiro and Keith try to reconnect after Eriadu and Yavin. Some things need to be said, and some need to be acknowledged before they can heal - and, as they say, it's always darkest before the dawn.

Beautiful, epic, heart wrenching, and ultimately moving. A wonderful study into the life of Riza Hawkeye, and I so very enjoyed the journey. The author's writing is incredible, and I found myself falling in love with Riza and Roy, heck even the rest of the cast and the original characters. Honestly, it's one of those stories where you feel privileged to have had the chance to read. I felt on behalf of Riza, and I adored the character and relationship development. I took the time to work my way through delicate, and I treasured Hawkeye's journey. A great bridging of pre-canon, canon, and post-canon.
I really empathized with Riza and her desire for love. I was so happy when she found what she'd been looking for all along in not just Roy, but also in Team Mustang, Black Hayate, Grumman, Rebecca, and the community in Ishval. My favorite types of fics involve the slow path of healing and recovery, and boy oh boy did this deliver. You don't know how much I loved seeing Riza in therapy and the way the author handled complex characters and themes with grace. Just overall an incredible story that blew me away. <3

holonet chaos is Big Fun. I think in general, one of the main themes in the clone wars was the poor distribution of information. part of it was obviously orchestrated by interested parties such as Palpatine, but the idea is that the control of information heavily influences all the various perspectives of the war. People like Satine have a very vague image of the war---don't know about the genocide, the displacement, the sieges, the destruction of planets---and so view the war as pointless and avoidable. They accordingly choose not to fight, and others who DO know the details are appalled by this attitude because they know they can't leave these injustices unanswered (the jedi, for example). That being said, it would be very easy for people indirectly involved or entirely unexposed to the war to lose interest or have a bad view of the fight that the clones plus the jedi and all the planetary natives are putting in. The more intimately the public is aware of what the Jedi go through and what they do to protect freedom, the harder it will be for Palpatine to throw shade.ecb 19 comemts
Good lord, what a well written chapter. Feeling the pain in the Force, feeling Krell twisting it, and Anakin AT LAST listening to the Force and accepting that the times it wants something different than what he does...well. This is why he should listen to it. It's a hard lesson. It's a tough lesson. But he's learned it.The pain and the sorrow...the resolution.
Anakin without the inhibitor of a pain chip is becoming something truly marvelous. What he did here is going to Echo (hah) for a very long time to come. -
