    Tony had pancakes ready for when Peter woke up, having cooked breakfast just as he had the last few days. (Maybe he was the mother hen that Pepper teased him about being sometimes). Friday told him that Peter had woken up and was on his way and Tony had just put a bottle of Peter’s favourite syrup on the counter when the teen walked into the room.

    Peter gave Tony a small, strained smile in greeting that Tony echoed before he was drowning his pancakes in the most obscene amount of syrup that Tony had ever seen.

    They ate in silence for a while before Peter spoke up. "Mr Stark? He asked.

    Tony looked up, lowering his coffee mug to pay attention. "Yeah, kid?"

    "I need to tell you something."
