Summary
This is my first fic so please be nice :) I'm working within the 2000s Teen Titans series while adding more internal perspectives of characters. I plan on adding plot outside of the show while also following most of its timeline.
“The last time I ate a ball of cotton, it was white, and it did not taste very-”
He smiled reassuringly, shaking his head. “This is different, trust me.” He tore off a small piece of the candy and ate it.
She watched curiously for a moment before she hesitantly tore off a piece of her own. “Mmm,” she hummed. Her eyes shot open after a brief moment. “It vanished!” she squealed.
“Yeah, it’ll do that,” he chuckled, smiling fondly.
She sighed wistfully, relaxing into her seat. “When I first came to this planet, I did not think I would ever fit in. Earth was full of strange things.” She looked down for a moment before meeting his eyes again with a grateful smile. “But now I see that-”
A particularly large firework exploded in the sky.
“Here comes the finale!” he cheered. “Amazing!”
She appreciated the colorful lights flickering in the sky before turning to observe his awe. “-Earth is full of amazing things too.”

Tears welled in Elara’s eyes, but she blinked them back, her warrior's training asserting itself. She saw the unwavering resolve in her sister's gaze, the love and the terrible burden of leadership. This was not a choice born of fear, but of profound, agonizing duty.

October 3rd 9:45pm, rain beats down hard on Hub City as cameras survey the streets below. Jumbotrons throughout the city faintly spew an announcement from KBEL-TV, drowned out mostly by the frenzy of drops. Down a desolate alley, one of the few places without a camera a manhole rises enough to slide to the side.
Someone with a fedora slowly raises themselves from the hole, rain drooping the rim of their hat. They look back and forth making sure the coast is clear. Getting out we see more of them. They’re wearing a dark blue trench with long frizzy hair pulled back into a ponytail.

This story was greatly inspired by PonchoFirewalker01's 'Preserving and Reviving the Skull' on DeviantArt. After all, I am a DIEHARD FAN of both Peter Jackson's amazing remake of King Kong and Jurassic Park/World, along with Disney's cult classic film, Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Only this time, ALL of the animals from Skull Island, along with the natives, are going to be rescued by Carl and his team before the island sinks in 1948.
