Summary
Instead of Hopper finding Eleven, it is Steve who stumbles upon the young girl. With his uncle, the Mayor of Hawkin's help they find out that something is lurking in the Hawkins Laboratory and in the new family from California. As Steve tries to help El, he finds out there's more to the boisterous and arrogant Billy Hargrove than meets the eye.
"Didn't know you had a kid sister, Harrington?"
Mike loudly said, "That's not his-" but did not finish before Steve kicked him in the shin. The last thing he needed was for El to be taken back to that hellhole because of her friend's idiocy. Was he like that when he was thirteen? He hoped not. He probably was. "Yeah. This is-"
"Jane," El said quietly but with a smile as she looked at Steve.
"She goes by El. It's a nickname they gave her," He pointed at the boys. "El Harrington. This is Billy, he goes to my school."
