Charles distantly heard Moira question Erik, but let it be for the moment. It was easy to tell that En was rather distraught, so Charles stayed tucked up in his arms and allowed the other man to hold him close as his thoughts slowly calmed down to something less erratic and frightened. It wasn’t like it was a hardship to be bundled up in his fiancé’s arms, after all, and Charles moved to tuck his face against the overly warm skin of En’s throat to warm his icy nose.
“Mhm, you’re like a space heater,” Charles purred, making another happy noise when En tightened his arms around Charles’ waist.
He knew the body heat that En was putting off was purposeful, and he brushed his thanks across En’s thoughts as he pressed closer.

Honestly, Hank and everyone at the school thought things were at the worst after the war began and Charles, with Moira, infiltrated secret government agencies to erasing all record of the school's existence.
Then rumor spread that a division had a method developed by Trask Industry to detect mutants. Suddenly, Charles and Moira vanish without a trace, leaving everyone scrambling to find them. Magneto even escapes from prison to add further complication.
They really never imagined things could get worse than that! They especially didn't expected finding out where Charles vanished to could be worse than him being lost but it really was.
