    He and Jin Ling really are the same person, sometimes. Wei Wuxian considers pointing out, again, that he is nowhere near dying, but he lets it go. He’s tired. And it’s apparently not helping. “Not all of Gusu Lan,” he says mildly. “I think the elders would send gifts.”

    Lan Jingyi, who had evidently had *enough*, simply narrowed his eyes and marched their whole group to the edge of the clearing where Jiang Cheng was still locked in a standoff with the older Lan disciple.

    Once they had a good angle, he simply narrowed his eyes and pointed at the tall Lan.
    This was the exact moment when he looked over at them, and Wei Ying swallowed.

    “Oh. OH!”

    After he was able to do more than gape again, (which took a not inconsiderable amount of time) he quickly bustled over, shot the tall handsome man who was evidently his husband a charming smile, and took Jiang Cheng's arms into his hands.

    “If you would please excuse us for a moment, I need a word with my Shidi. Very urgently.”

    A strange curse causes Wei Wuxian to shift back and forth between his childhood, teenage and adult self.

    Jiang Wanyin may or may not be in over his head with the task of keeping the mayhem at a minimum.

    One second, Jiang Cheng was ordering his Sect. The next, he suddenly collapsed and Wei Wuxian caught him just in time before he met the ground. Immediately after the shocking event, Wei Wuxian brought Jiang Cheng to the sect leader's room and laid him on his bed.

    Soft murmurs came from Jiang Cheng. Most were incoherent mumbles, but some Wei Wuxian could make out into actual words, “Miss you… Shixiong. Don’t… leave.”

    Wei Wuxian let out a soft gasp and grabbed Jiang Cheng’s hand, slowly rubbing his thumb back and forth. “Oh, A-Cheng… I’m not going anywhere.”

    Jiang Cheng stared resolutely at the softly swaying reeds and tried to get lost in the sounds of buzzing insects and muffled voices. It'd be so easy to doze off and wake up to a-jie's laughter and a plate of watermelon slices. It'd be perfect.

    It wasn't the person who grew up eating his a-jie's soup and swimming in the Lotus Pier lakes.
