If you are looking for an example of how to write a crossover, this is it. Alex growing up to be John is very believable as it is presented here, and I do like Sherlock's constantly thwarted deductions about his flatmate and just what led him to where he is now. The secrecy and its effect on both John and Harry is beautifully and subtly conveyed, and I like the implication that this was what caused Harry's drinking problem and the dissolution of her relationship with Clara. And the last few lines just killed me. A gem on all fronts.
