Childe’s experience in the Abyss permanently changed his body. Leaving him with fox-like features and the ability to only digest meat. Anytime he ingests something not entirely meat-based, he’s left with debilitating stomach cramps and excessive vomiting. Yet, when he goes out with Zhongli to eat every other day, he can never seem to tell the handsome consultant no when he orders a variety of dishes. After the events of the Golden House and the bank lobby, Childe and Zhongli eventually work things out and Zhongli discovers a sickening secret that Childe had kept from him.
OR; Childe is completely carnivorous and has kept this secret from Zhongli. He feels bad refusing dishes that Zhongli speaks so highly of, and forces himself to endure the pain just to appease the man.

The buzz of alcohol paints everything a warm, golden glow. Childe never knew a person could look so resplendent simply taking a sip of wine, but the way Zhongli holds himself –with all the elegance of an emperor on his throne–is so jarring that Childe finds himself swallowing hard, even though he had yet to take a sip himself.
Husband, his heart sings. He's my husband.
He jolts as he realizes what he’s thinking. He’s getting too far ahead of himself. He shakes his head, reminding himself with a twinge in his heart that he and Zhongli are not together. The alcohol is getting to his head, letting his thoughts run with his desires and mix them with reality.
He knows better than this; he should be taking more caution with his actions, especially as a high-ranking Fatui official. But as the alcohol in his bloodstream and the god in front of him fills him with a warmth that makes Childe go weak in the knees, all his resolve melts away. In the dim light of evening, Zhongli shines, and Childe thinks of committing him to memory with the touch of his lips.
Childe gets drunk and thinks Zhongli is his husband. He's not (yet).

“This look fits you much better, Tartaglia” Pierro taunts him, silently enjoying the way the ocean blue eyes are a storm of anger, pain, frustration, and the slightest tint of fear. A sick part of Pierro wants to walk over and force the pretty eyes from their sockets, so he can place them on display. But, Pierro figures it would be better to leave that bad habit to Dottore. Though, as Pierro looks at Childe and sees the anger burning in his eyes, he can’t but wonder how nice it would be for the younger man to be put on display forever.
“You look very pretty like this, Ajax.”
(aka Childe is punished for loving - Pierro is obsessive, possessive and an ass. Zhongli hurt Childe, and Capitano is a gem. Childe needs to pick a boyfriend and find a therapist. Zhongli/Childe will appear later, but is a relevant tag. updates every two weeks.)

A hand reaches out to touch him. A small portion of his mind notes that the touch is surprisingly affectionate and he likes that, but the majority of Childe’s mind is screaming. He can’t take the feeling, so Childe fights it. He slaps away Zhongli’s hand and goes to push past him. Suddenly, a chain reaction is triggered and Childe’s brain spins as the world moves in a fast, unstoppable motion of events. A hand grabs his arm and tries to stop him from leaving, but it only succeeds in worsening the situation. There is a shout of anger and the words are deaf in Childe’s ears, even though they are his own. Zhongli’s arms wrap around Childe’s thin torso and somehow he wrestles the young Harbinger. They go down in a messy pile, struggling for dominance as Childe begins to thrash wildly. He doesn’t know what is happening, but the adrenaline is rushing through his body and pushing his fist to smash against Zhongli’s chest. Then, Childe hears Zhongli’s voice next to his ear and his words push through the deafening symphony, “I do not hate you, Childe. You are making incorrect assumptions, if I hated you then I wouldn’t be trying to help you.”
Somehow, those words are enough.
