Summary
There is a knock on the door at 10 am on the dot as if Eddie had been staring at his watch waiting to not be early. Buck adjusts his outfit feeling a flush warm his face as he makes his way over. Opening the door he gives Eddie a quick once over then mutters a soft, “Hey.”
Eddie’s expression was fairly neutral but shifts as he blinks rapidly at Buck's appearance. He shuffles past Buck as he scans him repeatedly. His voice comes out strained, “What are you wearing?”
OR
Buck doesn't like the way things ended with Eddie so he formulates a plan and does some online shopping.

Summary
“If you’re looking for another way out, there isn’t one,” Buck says, her head tipped against the back of her seat. She’s not sure if chatting with her captor is the best idea, but it’s not like she’s ever been known for being full of those. “You can keep looking, but I know it better than you do.”
“You can shut up if you don’t have any ideas.” He doesn’t even bother pointing the gun at her this time. What’s the point? The truth is, they’re both hostages at this point, being held here by the barrels of the LAPD. “You know, you should want to help me. I’m trying to save a life.”
“Well, that’s a great motive,” she says, more snappish than is safe for her position. “I’d feel a lot more confident in your mission of mercy if you hadn’t threatened Eddie’s kid.”
(The terror she’d felt when he threatened Chris. Like her heart’s been walking around outside her body, and he’d squeezed it.)

Summary
Buck can’t tell Eddie that he’s tired of living from nightmare to nightmare, crisis to crisis, and he just wants —
He wants to wake up. He wants to let every word in his head fill the distance between them. He wants to think about Eddie in that hospital room, saying no one will fight for my son as hard as you, the greatest act of trust — without thinking about everything that came before that conversation and every horrific thing that could come of it.
He can’t.
Fix-it (of sorts) for 5x6.

Summary
“Do you-” Eddie grasps at his own knee, fingernails digging deep into the flesh, “do you want to be a part of our family, for real?”
Buck doesn’t know why Eddie even bothers asking in the first place; the answer is obvious, “Of course I do.”
Buck thinks Eddie got shot again, and it may cause an epiphany (or two).

Summary
Eddie's been having a lot of feelings about how closely ingrained into his and Christopher's lives. His brain can't decide if that's good or bad, even though his heart's seemingly made the decision, and he snaps.
Evan knows he should take a step back. Let Eddie have time with his family, and quit being such a present part of his and Chris's day-to-day lives. He didn't expect Eddie to yell at him about it, though.

Summary
buck does not handle the prison riots well at all. eddie gets really mad and then really worried, in that order.
alt;
Eddie thinks it started with the ambulance, or the gun.
But then Nolan’s mom comes out, and Nolan’s going to be okay, and Eddie can breathe again, kind of, and all he can think is 'Christopher,' so he leaves. He walks out and tries to imagine that he and Buck are fine, and it doesn’t work, and he tries not to care about that.
It doesn’t work.

Summary
Buck had been avoiding him. Eddie didn’t realize it at first. He initially chalked it up to their schedules being different, to Buck wanting to spend more time Taylor, to Cap pairing him with Hen in Chim’s absence. But in the last few weeks the only time Eddie saw Buck was when they happened to pass each other in the weight room or at team dinners.
OR Eddie actually notices the distance growing between him and Buck and decides to do something about it.

Summary
“I really don’t want to fight, Buck.”
“Neither do I.” Buck says, but he knows even as he’s saying it that he still sounds angry. Because he is. Because he’s barely been able to get his hands to stop shaking and here Eddie is, fine, like he always is, like he didn’t get way too close to getting shot again. Like Buck doesn’t know what his blood tastes like, what it feels like to have it splattered across his face. Like he didn’t watch Eddie almost bleed out under his hands and it’s been haunting him ever since.
He doesn’t say any of that.

Buck feels like his whole life is a waiting game now. Waiting for whatever is going on with Eddie to come to a head or work itself out, waiting for his sister to come home, waiting for being with Taylor to feel right. Sitting, waiting, wishing.

- [Eddie] Come over.
Two words, so simple, and yet Buck feels as though all the breath has been sucked from his lungs.
Before he even has time to attempt to recover another text comes through.
- [Eddie] Chris is awake. I know it’ll make you feel better to see him.
Buck doesn’t know how to respond to that, doesn’t know how to acknowledge just how achingly true that statement is. Doesn’t know how to touch on his emotions without cracking his heart wide open and spilling everything out.A post 5x06 fic
