Summary
He tries to breathe.
But the air is thick. Suffocating. It clogs his throat and presses down on his chest like a weight. It feels wrong. Too tight. Too heavy.
And the surface above him is wood.
OR: Bobby comes back on a Thursday. Alive. Whole. Confused.

Summary
It wasn’t enough that Eddie was leaving. That he’d spent the last few weeks pretending he was fine with it, pretending that the ache in his chest didn’t feel like a slow unraveling. The universe, it seemed, had a cruel sense of humor. As if it wasn’t enough that Eddie was leaving—no, the universe had to turn this whole thing into a tragic, cinematic cliché.
“Good one,” Buck muttered to the sky, his laugh turning into something smaller, more fragile. He sniffed, wiping at his face—was it rain or tears? He couldn’t tell anymore.

Summary
Eddie yawned as he entered the kitchen. “Morning, mijo. What’s this?”
Christopher didn’t look up. “What’s what?”
Eddie gestured to the calendar.
“Oh, that?” Christopher shrugged, doing his best impression of casual indifference. “It’s an advent calendar. Thought it’d be fun to do this year.”
Eddie raised an eyebrow. “And you made it?”
“With a little help,” Christopher admitted, smiling slyly.
Before Eddie could ask more questions, there was a knock at the door.
“Buck’s here!” Christopher called, a little too eagerly.
Eddie gave him a suspicious look but went to answer the door.
OR
Christopher gives them a (gentle) nudge in the right direction with a customized advent calendar.

Summary
"One look, dark room, meant just for you"
Eddie raised an eyebrow, glancing at Buck. He didn’t recognize the song immediately, but the voice was unmistakable. "Is this... Taylor Swift?" Eddie asked.
Buck gave a small, almost reluctant nod. „Yeah, it is.“ The song continued, its delicate guitar chords melding with the soft hum of the tires against the road.
„Small talk, he drives, coffee at midnight, the light reflects, the chain on your neck, he says, "Look up“, and your shoulders brush“
The words washed over them like a wave, and Buck wondered if Eddie felt it too.

Summary
Castiel still can’t escape the fear he felt, knowing he was on the brink of losing Dean. He can’t escape the feeling that overcomes him, knowing that if he hadn’t broken Jack’s rules, if he hadn’t escaped from Heaven, Dean would be gone.
Maybe, Dean would have found some kind of peace in Jack’s Heaven. But Castiel could never let himself accept that, at least not right now, at least not for decades. Right now, Dean belongs here, on Earth. No amount of lies about fate could ever convince Castiel otherwise. And Castiel knows he belongs here with Dean, even if he feels like a fugitive from Heaven again. A fallen angel who’s falling harder than ever before.
[Castiel - saved from the Empty from new God Jack Kline - is under orders not to interfere with humanity. Castiel disobeys, and heals Dean in a slow recovery that leaves Dean craving more than just Castiel's grace, and Castiel can feel his powers failing, and memories that have been erased slowly creeping back in. Summary
“I want you.” Dean’s voice is quiet, breaking with anticipation and anxiety all at once. “If you want me.”
Castiel nods, takes a step back, and pushes his own shirt, unbuttoned and wrinkled, off his shoulders. “This is disobedience—this is me disobeying another God. This is me betraying Heaven and falling all over for you again, isn’t it?”
“I don’t know. But this is me telling you that the thing you wanted, you had all along. You had me all along.” For a moment, Dean feels like he can’t breathe, the creeping reality that maybe Castiel will leave him again sinking through him. Maybe this time it won’t be the Empty crawling over Castiel and dragging him away, maybe this time Castiel will be taken forever by a furious God.
[In a dark barn in Ohio, a dying Dean Winchester prays to Castiel to save him. But Castiel - saved from the Empty from new God Jack Kline - is under orders not to interfere with humanity. Summary
“You better kill me now!” Dean screams.
Lucifer turns back. “Pardon?”
“You better kill me now. Or I swear, I will find a way to kill you. And I won't stop.”
“I know you won't. I know you won't say yes to Michael, either. And I know you won't kill Sam." Lucifer takes a step closer, briefly looking around the graveyard. “Whatever you do, you will always end up here. Whatever choices you make, whatever details you alter, we will always end up—here. I win. So, I win.”
Dean shakes his head, holding back his rage. “You're wrong.”
Lucifer smiles. “See you in five years, Dean.”
.
Ten years later, right after blacking out on that rebar, Dean wakes up in a dusty, rotten hotel room.
It doesn’t take him too long to find out that he's in what looked like 2014, but not the 2014 he lived in. It’s the 2014 that’s not supposed to exist.

Summary
“So what’s up with- Dude, again?” Sam’s voice rings through the room incredulously.
Dean grunts in response.
“You can’t possibly still be tired. Like, I feel like this should be physically impossible.”
“Tell that to my melatonin levels.”
“How do you know what melatonin is?”
Dean does his best to roll his eyes under the cover of his eyelids. “Jesus, Sam, I’m not an idiot. Will you shut up so I can sleep?”
He hears Sam huff. “Ya know, if you wanted to nap, you could always use that thing you have called a bed.”
“Not the same,” Dean grumbles. His body doesn’t get all loose when he’s laying in his bed watching horror movies. The synapses that slow their firing contentedly seem to be wired to that same invisible bodily response of the outside world, and apparently being in the openness of his family’s space turns his brain into mush. “Now unless someone’s dying, I’m beggin’ you to shut up.”
or the one where the whole family is together, dean finds enough peace to take some naps, and he's not sure he'll ever figure out how to say those three big words to cas
