Stan’s been given a time wish, instead of wishing he never made the “greatest” mistake of his life, he thought things through. His dad always did say he’d mess things up one way or another so maybe he should dig deeper.
If he wasn’t around he wouldn’t have held Ford back but what about the bullies? They’ll eat his twin up if he wasn’t there to defend and encourage him. And with their parents, Stanford will need all the encouraging Stanley gives.
But what if he’s there for just enough time to watch his brother succeed? He’ll just re-live their childhood up to the point before he breaks the machine. After that, it’s good bye again.

It was a cold and wet day in New Mexico. The once bright blue sky was blanketed with dark, menacing thunderclouds. A flash of lightning, a rumble of thunder. Hail and sleet began to pound down into the earth, unrelenting and almost angrily. Stan desperately ran through it, weighed down by his past.
In the midst of it all, a child fell to the ground. Unconscious, with his sister lost in their cunning escape. His hands were weakly clenched, grasping for his sister's hand and the machine that brought him here. The wind howled, picking up his hat and tossing it a few feet away.
Stan just happens to stumble upon the child.
TLDR: Dipper travels to 1982 and meets young Stan.

Time officer Blendin Blenjamin Blandin was well and truly done with his job. This was not the first or even second time those Pines twins had stolen a time tape from right under his nose, it was the third. He had reported it, of course. The other officers and even The Honorable Time Baby himself had just sighed in annoyance and frustration (though whether it was towards him or the kids Blendin wasn’t sure) told him that they were small and couldn’t have gotten far, and sent a few lower-ranking officers to Gravity Falls to recover the tape, undo any possible paradoxes, and send the kids back home.
Somewhere else, far far away from Gravity Falls, two children found themselves in a grimy alleyway with skinned knees and a broken time tape.
