"Hey bud, it's your birthday!" The smiling man's eyes drift off screen, "Twelve is an impressive number, you're gunna be gettin' hair on that chest soon! I miss you like crazy, it's your birthday but behave okay?" Eyes once again move to somewhere else. "I saw you started baseball! I'm proud of you! Hit a homerun for me." A voice in the back called out, "I'm alright here, working hard. I can't say much but-"
"Now Marine!"
The man sighs, "I gotta go, but I wanted to be sure to wish you a happy birthday," His smile is light, "I love you, make me proud alright?"
The video ends and the room is still. The boy's face is blank, emotionless as his eyes begin to burn, lashes fluttering with the ache to close. A hand reaches out and taps the screen.

He remembers the story. How can he not? But it’s fragmented and jumbled in his head, blurring with what he knows of this life and the details he does recall don’t concern him.

The Hidden Leaf Village in Naruto's time seems to have forgotten just why the village was founded and have lost their way. Through a mishap with a hiraishin seal, Tobirama finds himself during Naruto's time and he is having none of this nonsense. His brother may be gone, but he won't stand to have Hashirama's dream trampled so.
And if he has to cause a civil war or burn the village down to the ground? Well that depends on how much resistance he meets.
All Tobirama does know for certain is that no child will suffer underneath the protection of Konoha and if he has to take them in and care for them himself, then he will.
