Summary
Oliver inhales sharply, the very sight of her stealing the breath from his lungs and it catches her attention. Quick as a whip, her head snaps around to face him, revealing a gaunt face. Her porcelain skin is ashen, sunken against her bones in a dreadful way that only serves to highlight her skull. Her wrists are so tiny, bones at every joint sticking out unhealthily and the massive limbs behind her look ratty and unkempt.
But still, in spite of all of that, Oliver can see that she is beautiful. Her high cheekbones, though exaggerated by her thinness, speak of an elegant bone structure, her bowed lips are plush and enticing, despite their pale blue shade. And her eyes… God, her eyes. They are crystalline, the bluest of blues, shining with an unspoken intelligence as she takes him in. They capture him, drawing him into her and before he knows it, he is taking a step forward.
Determined to uncover the Archbishop’s secrets, Oliver becomes their guardian. The girl in the catacombs, the lynchpin of all that’s happening, changes everything.

Summary
Twenty-five years after Sozin's Comet was used to wipe out the airbenders, the war is making it's way to the Earth Kingdom. After realising that the cause he was fighting for was a lie, Oliver defected from the army to fight against his own people with his team - an earthbender, two former army comrades and a girl from the Southern Water Tribe. But his mission is interrupted when news from the Fire Nation reaches him, forcing him to head home for the first time in five years.
Set during the Hundred Year War from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Knowledge of the show will enhance the story but is not necessary to read this as it is set before the first episode.

William wants a cat but Oliver is unwilling to get one. Then they find a blue eyed tortoiseshell stray in an alley. Only thing is that she seems more reluctant to come home with them than Oliver is to have her come.
