Summary
"Hey, Aaron, you got a sec?"
Round three of Kate pulling Aaron aside for yet another hushed chat and those oh-so-conspiratorial smiles. Whatever the reason, it's apparently classified. Meanwhile, Emily's over here just trying to do the job—just her job, people. For crying out loud.
Multitasking is child's play. That's why Emily's focused on the images on the computer while absolutely not gnawing her nails out of jealousy. Because it's not real jealousy—obviously. That's not her thing. She and Hotch are about as committed as oil is to water. No reason to feel jealous of anyone, least of all her boss.

Summary
Eddie can’t even remember the last time they spent the whole day together without being on shift. But maybe there is a way to get Buck to stay with him for a whole day. Chris is too big to use as an excuse but –
An idea begins to form in his head.
Fuck it.
“Hey, Chim,” Eddie says, turning his attention to their new captain.
“Mh?”
“Buck and I have a present for you!”
“For me?” “We do?” Chim and Buck ask at the same time.
“Our present for you is a day off from parent duty. You and Maddie can do whatever you want to celebrate Captain Han and we will babysit the kids,” Eddie explains with a smile.
From the corner of his eye he can see how Buck cocks his head for a moment before his smile returns in full force as he hugs Jee-Yun closer to his body. “Do you hear that, Jee Jee? You’re getting a whole day of uncle Buck and uncle Eddie time. Isn’t that exciting?”
Or a post 9x01 fic in which a baby monitor and a overheard love confession might just give Eddie everything he's ever wanted.

Summary
Having his feelings validated was … pretty fucking great, actually. Dr. Copeland said it might be time for him to let go of one of his burdens at the dinner with everyone. That if he felt himself falling into the peacekeeper, like he always did, making himself the target and taking the verbal abuse that they knew his parents were capable of, to switch gears and actually absorb what’s said and respond similarly. She told him it was ok to be an asshole once in a while, which made him laugh. He could forgive all he wanted, but he didn’t have to forget. And that didn’t mean he was holding onto negative shit. It just meant he valued his own mental health over the feelings of people who don’t know him or constantly push him to forgive whether he’s wrong or not. People who never put his wellbeing as a priority, people who never cared about his wellbeing period. He doesn’t have to forgive them for them. He can do it for him.
Or
Buck has known about Daniel since he got a copy of his records from the hospital after they found he had been allergic to the hardware in his leg. He didn't want to see his parents again, but he deserved to be free from the guilt he still carried for never being enough for them.

Summary
When Buck first moved to California, he could barely sense the shift when Los Angeles summers melted into mild autumns. It was so much warmer here all year round than it was in Pennsylvania. Now he's lived here long enough to make the distinction, to know when fall is upon them. Buck's become pretty attuned to sensing change these days, no matter how insignificant.
