“Hey Mom can you do a final look before I send this back to May?” Buck suddenly said tapping a few more times on the keyboard before looking up at Athena. Eddies brain short circuited.
“Wait she’s your mother.” The entire loft stopped and looks at Eddie. Buck raises an eyebrow in his partners direction nodding slowly.
“Yeah, you didn’t know that.” Eddie shook his head eyes wide and confused until suddenly Hen burst out laughing.
“Oh, this makes it all so much better!” Eddie shoots his new co worker a glare. So, he not only backed into Bobby’s girlfriend’s car, but also Bucks mother’s car. Just freaking Perfect!

“Yelena, it’s not your fault.” She looked at him skeptically, and Sam doubled down, “Whatever you think you did, it was likely the straw that broke the camel’s back, with all he’s been through.”
“I should have known something was wrong,” Yelena’s voice had dulled, and she let her head tip forward until her forehead rested on her knees, talking to the floor, “He did not spend time with any of us, always alone, and it should have been so obvious he was suffering but we did not see it. So blind, when he was so kind and we did nothing in return, not even check on him. Maybe this would never happened if we had just been a good team.”

Bucky Barnes doesn't have a home. He is a relic of a bygone era, abandoned, forgotten and alone. Life has thrown everything his way, and he has endured it; through World War II, seventy years of brainwashing, torture and murder, getting hunted by several governments, getting snapped into ashes, his best friend leaving him alone in a world he felt displaced in, reliving his worst memories to save someone he didn't even know, his only friend ignoring him over some stupid team name.
The fight felt never-ending, just one after the other. Bucky had had enough. This was no way to live.
He just didn't know what he'd be leaving behind.
