Summary
“You’re the Batman,” Clark said, trying to keep his voice warm, even. “I’ve heard about you.”
Still no response. The wings shifted slightly, the sound low and dry, like wind moving through bone.
Even folded, they loomed. Easily twelve, maybe fourteen feet in total wingspan. The joints flexed with subtle micromovements, like the Bat was resisting the urge to spring forward or flee. And the texture… rough, almost scaly, with no sign of feathers. All tendon and membrane. Like something prehistoric.
Clark felt a shiver crawl down his spine.
It wasn’t fear. Not exactly.
“I’ve been looking for you,” he said, taking a cautious step forward, hands open at his sides. “Not you you, I mean. Others like me. Metas. People doing the right thing on their own terms.”
No answer.
“I thought you’d be taller,” he added, offering a small grin.
Nothing. Not even a twitch.
“Or… less grim.”

He was lying still on the metal table, his arms rested delicately along his sides like folded paper. Like someone had tried to make it look peaceful—make him look presentable. But Dick knew better. He knew that silence. That stillness. He’d seen too many bodies, too many ends.
But not this one. Not his.
“No,” Dick breathed. The word escaped like it had been punched from his gut. His head tilted to the side, slow and trembling, like his neck couldn’t hold the weight of what he was seeing.
“No…”
It came again, softer. Smaller. Like maybe if he whispered it, the universe would agree.
But it didn’t.
“No. No…” His voice cracked on the second one. Shook. His chest hitched as he took a shaky step forward. “No. No—no—”
A scrapped chapter on what could’ve happened if Bruce had called and told Dick Jason died.

“Ah,” says Zoey. She shuffles her notebooks into a pile she can pull to her chest, and spits her pen out onto the floor somewhere behind her. That’s a later problem. “You think it’s intervention time?”
“I think it’s at least not leave-her-by-herself time.” When Mira passed Rumi’s door earlier, she swears on her life she heard her talking, and she’s not letting that slide again, not after last time. Friends don’t let friends talk to the air. Or let friends talk to inanimate spirit swords that could possibly contain the soul of a 400-year-old demon. It’s not exactly in the girl code, but Mira’s always run more on intuition and street-smarts than the playbook.
Zoey nods, brow knitted. “On it. That girl needs boba and to watch Boys Over Flowers.”
“Again,” Mira agrees. “C’mon.”

Jinu is alive. As he should be, but the question is: where is he and who is this mysterious goddess who has plucked his soul out of the cycle and called him emotionally unavailable out of nowhere? Totally unfair. No way to treat a chill, kinda-dead guy. Who's still majorly emotionally constipated. And affected by his dark master's influence. Who really doesn't understand how to pass as a human without sinister motives. Why did that goddess think it was a good idea to give him a second chance? He doesn't have a great track record.
Meanwhile, Rumi, Zoey, and Mira have expanded their horizons and travelled greet more fans in K-pop obsessed America. With the Honmoon and Huntr/x's popularity restored, Bobby's ambitions run wild. Little do they know, things are about to get complicated and their trip abroad will be shorter than they thought. Celine is along for the ride, there's a kidnapping afoot, and it seems demons have returned!
