“Who?” Q didn’t look up from his laptop, fingers typing a mile a minute.
Eve snorted. “You know who it is. Besides, I don’t think he’d allow any other double-oh to come and try to sniff around here. Though that would make for an interesting afternoon.”

“Hey there sweetheart,” Buck says softly to the baby as he adjusts his grip so that she’s resting against his chest. “You’re okay. We’ve got you now.”
The screaming seems to die down the smallest amount.
“I know you’re scared, and you’re probably really confused, huh?” Buck walks her around in a small circle in front of the baby box, bouncing her ever so slightly. “Don’t you worry though, you’re safe here with us. And we’re gonna get you somewhere even safer once the nice DCFS people show up.”
The screaming ever so slowly comes to an almost full stop, little whimpers still escaping her tiny body every now and then.
“That’s it,” Buck encourages her with a smile. “You’re being so brave. Look at you go!”
