Feeling lonely after moving into a new apartment, you stop by the animal shelter in search of a four-legged friend. An hour later, you leave the shelter with papers for a large, rather intimidating wolfdog in your hand. He's a good companion—quiet, protective, a fan of stealing the socks from your laundry hamper. He brings a spark of joy to your life that had been sorely lacking until now.
But as time passes, it becomes clearer and clearer that you've got yourself no regular dog. He won’t respond to any names you call him, he doesn't interact much with other dogs at the dog park, and last week you swear you caught him reading the newspaper. In fact, sometimes he seems almost… human?

Brandon offers to be DJ, plays generic pop songs that nobody loves but everyone except Crow is alright with, and Crow has his earbuds in so it doesn’t matter what he thinks. There isn't enough space for all of us, so Squirrel and Crow (the only ones that will fit) are belted into the same seat.
Instead of a quest to save the Clans, the journey to the sun-drown-place is a bunch of kids in a five-seater car, running away from home.
