Summary
Buck’s not sure how it happens, but they find themselves falling into a rhythm. Buck goes on dates, not all of them as disastrous as the first, but none that warrant a second one, and afterwards he makes his way over to Eddie’s. They watch TV; they work on Eddie’s yard together; Buck starts teaching Eddie how to be a better cook.
And if Buck finds himself looking forward to seeing Eddie after his dates more than the dates themselves, well, that’s normal, right? It probably means nothing.

Looking at Evan is hard sometimes, the same way looking into the sun without blinking is hard, but looking away is even harder because Evan has a smile that lights up a room and when he laughs, his eyes crinkle at the corners.
Eddie has wanted him since the moment they met, and while that was easy to ignore - this is harder. This, that's Evan's humor and the way he cares too much about the people around him and not nearly enough about himself. It's the way he'll memorize random fun facts he's never going to need but still doesn't know the difference between Star Trek and Star Wars, and it's his complete disregard for personal space, highlighted every time his shoulder bumps Eddie's when they're walking next to each other.

Eddie Diaz is a recently divorced, thirty-year-old college professor and father to the best kid in the world. In light of his recent split, though, he’s made a discovery: his sexuality might not be as straight and narrow as he’s always thought. Instead of panicking, though, he makes the safe, sensible (and budget-breaking) decision to set a hypothesis and test it by calling in to a sex hotline to talk to a male agent. Everyone experiments in college, right? Even the professors.
