This was so precious oh my god 😭
And like I commented in the first chapter, the characters really feel, well, super in-character. It's something I'm still REALLY struggling with, but also something I can tell was given good care. A great fic with a little bit of angst, but still feels comfy and cozy in the end.

MK is doing great after the Pillar Incident.
His family is safe, the world isn't actively tearing apart at the seams, there are no new villains from Monkey King's past trying to tear apart the peace they've finally received. It's great! Clearly everything isn't going to be normal, but MK can live with that.
Sure, he's getting nightmares, but that's fine! His human form is feeling more and more like a costume, and he can tell his friends are worried, but it's fine. MK is fine. Nothing he hasn't dealt with before. It's what he deserves after all.
He is the Harbinger of Chaos.

This fic is literally so good omg-
The writing is so good! The way the characters are written is so good. The way meltdowns are written is so accurate (and gosh, have I mentioned that it's really really good??) I cannot wait (exaggeration) to see where this story goes and I'll be looking forward to reading each new chapter that comes out from here, and as should you if you haven't read this book yet >:]Just an amazing fic, definitely worth a read!

I wanna say right off of the bat you are SO IMMENSELY good at writing autistic frustration lol
Genuinely, I related so much to Donnie when he got mad at himself for that mistake, and the spiraling was definitely relatable. I love how you picked up on Donnie's kind of looping wording. I don't know what the official term for it is, but that state where Donnie ends up just saying the same funneled phrasing over and over again. I would have liked to see a bit more of it, but I'm glad you featured a bit of it nonetheless!A good example (in case I'm explaining this horribly wrongly, which I probably am lol) is in Mind Meld, when Donnie gets angry at his brothers for screwing up a mission all for a 'pizza pigeon' and goes into a mini spiral about how 'dum-dum' his 'dum-dum' brothers are, right before throwing down a box of crayons. It's kind of a weird sort of pattern I see myself feeling internally a lot and I love how I could see that devolving frustration in this fic too
I had no idea there were more chapters but gosh, just from the first chapter alone, I can NOT wait to read the rest!

Good writing, everybody seems actually quite in character, even Raph starting bickers. I could totally see Raph pointing out sloppy form and judging Leo for things like that cause I honestly do see Raph as the one who takes training the most serious.
I actually love the dynamic writing between Mikey and Donnie and I could hear their show voices saying those lines so easily. I also love the attention to details, like how the arguing actually has a bounce-off effect on the other two brothers. Just a really good fic in general! <33

Donnie paused what he was doing, the tap of his fingers against the tablet going still.
There was no sensation present in his body that could be called hunger. If anything, his body felt like it was a wisp, blended into the background of everything else. His stomach didn't exist. Hunger itself was created by the hormone ghrelin triggering the muscles to contract after a period of fasting, creating a bodily sensation meant to motivate a someone to eat. No such sensation was present, just a fuzzy blankness.
"No." Donnie answered honestly, tipping his head back down to his screen.

“Come on, Mikey. Don’t go falling asleep now.” Raph holds Mikey close, as if he can single-handedly push back the wind and snow with his bare hands. But Donnie can’t help but notice that the eldest is also blinking a little heavier than usual. In fact, Leo is also somewhat sluggish, though he only notices because he’s watched how Leo darts between actions all his life.
Okay, so maybe staying out in the cold all day and fighting a giant polar bear wasn’t a good idea. For reptiles, that is.
However, the tiredness Donnie feels buzzing in his brain is easily pushed back. They’re all much safer than Mikey, who is slipping away from them with each second.~
Post “Snow Day”, Mikey tearing his coat has drastic consequences that result in him freezing and slipping into brumation.
TLDR: Box turtles, when hibernating, can have no detectable pulse or heartbeat. None of Mikey’s brothers are aware of this and believe that they have just watched their youngest brother die.
