Summary
Ranboo never wanted to be an actor.
He was put into acting by his parents at a young age. They claimed he had a talent for it, with smiles as they dragged him to another audition, while he whined to them about wanting to go home and wanting to have friends that weren’t his adult co-workers who wanted nothing to do with him, but he would quickly change his act the moment he was in front of the casting director, putting on a fake yet nervous smile as he acted out the monologue his parents had picked out for him.
There were many things they wanted to be when he grew up.
An actor wasn’t one of them.

“Hey kid,” Techno said, nudging the kid.
There was no response other than his eyes squeezing together.
“Kid,” Techno tried again, firmer.
Yet again there was no response from the kid.
Techno sighed. He couldn’t have this kid sleeping on the side of the road.
So, he had a bad idea.
An absolutely terrible idea.

“No, no, no! Dream, it’s fine! I’m fine! You don’t have to apologize,” Tommy said, but Dream raised his hand to make him stop, with a frown.
“I’m not done yet, Tommy.”
“Sorry,” he mumbled.
Dream let out a short chuckle with a fond head shake. “It’s okay. It’s just, I need this party to be perfect so I can get this allyship with the Syndicate, and I guess I’ve been putting it on you. I told you that you could decide how the event looks, and I haven’t been holding myself to that.” Another sigh, “I’ve been too ‘controlling.’ I hate that word, but the others are saying I need to let you have more control.” He gave Tommy a smile. “Sam told me you wanted it to be a costume party.”
Or, Tommy needs to get Essempi an alliance with the Syndicate. He ends up with a new family instead.

"That's me!" Jinx says all-too-cheerily, and she's lunging as fast as Vi remembers her being, throwing her arms around Vi's shoulders before Vi can blink. "I missed you too."
Vi almost flinches, but Jinx just presses her head into Vi's shoulder and she's sighing so softly, and her touch is warm, too warm to be a ghost returned from the dead, and it's all Vi can do to just graze her palm against the back of Jinx's hair, brush against the flat of her neck. "I thought you were dead," she whispers, and then louder, "I thought you were dead, how are you…"
"Yeah, I know," Jinx whispers right back, and she clears her throat, pulling away just before Vi can reciprocate the hug in full. "I wasn't really planning on coming back either, but then… well, figured Lisha should meet her aunt, it was only fair."
Vi blinks again, tries to digest the information being given to her, and she scowls. "Aunt?"
