That's why he gets to make a wish for himself that lasts for one week every 100 years. And, after 1,000 years he wishes for a normal life with a man he met a month prior.
Or, Tommy the wishing-well spirit asks to be Phil’s son for one week. What happens when the boy gets attached to him and his two sons before the week's end.

The kid shoots up and he looks scared out of his mind for a second before scowling. “I’m not a fuckin’ kid,” he snaps. Wilbur laughs softly, the kids eyes are blue, they remind him of Phil.
“Right, how can I help you?”
The kids’ bristling demeanor dies down instantly and he looks suddenly much more nervous. The kids posture is shit, Wilbur notices, his shoulders are up and slouched over his chest almost protectively. He starts fidgeting with sleeves of his shirt and he quickly but quietly pulls out a five dollar bill, he slides it across the bar to Wilbur.
“Could I have a- could I get a-“ He pauses, shakes his head and looks up.
“Hamburger and sweet potato fries,” He says it with a confident voice but scared eyes and body language.or phil, techno, and wilbur own a diner and tommy becomes a regular customer. one found family arc later and they adopt him

Hesitantly, he presses a trembling hand to the glass.
The entire universe is spread out underneath his finger tips, hundreds upon hundreds of stars swirling in constellations he doesn't know, a melting pot of dazzling colors, vivid pinks and deep blues, swatches of yellow and green.
If he squints, he can make out planets. Tiny little dots, hardly bigger than the nail on his pinky finger. That little grey one must be Lestea, the trade moon they just left, but the others? he has no idea.
One of them must be earth. How ironic is that he's the first human to ever leave the Milky Way Galaxy, and all he wants to do is go back home?
(In other words; After rescuing Tommy, sbi and co. embark on a roadtrip through the Esempi Galaxy to return him to his home planet, Earth. They make a few pit stops, piss off some shopkeepers, make some strange friends, and learn how to be family along the way)

Summary
It started out with a joke, honest. A joke between a group of friends, who despite the actions of the server around them, were really all still just kids. No member of the group was entirely sure how they'd ended up in this situation if they were being entirely honest, but none of them were terribly opposed to it either. Least of all Ranboo who's just glad that Techno is being relatively calm after getting accidentally hit in the face with a bundle of flowers by the wedding's resident flower girl Tommy. Ranboo wonders if maybe after how Dream and Fundy's wedding went, he should have told Tommy no and given the position to someone else, but he can't really regret it watching the way that Tubbo laughs and Michael is holding a flower between his teeth.

After Wilbur is revived Tommy goes and gives him a hand in an attempt to keep an eye on him. Unfortunately, it doesn't go as planned and he ends up trusting Wilbur a little too much.
Thankfully this time he had Tubbo and Ranboo to look out for him, well, he had Tubbo until Wilbur did his song and dance on him too.
They have Ranboo though, and Ranboo won't let anything happen to those two.
