It had ended in a love confession from Buck when Eddie had asked Buck to elaborate on an accidental ‘I love you’. Buck had immediately panicked after, but a quick look at Eddie’s gaze made it clear it wasn't so unrequited after all.

Buck and Eddie have been dating for a while. They try to keep it a secret, but failing miserably at doing so. The 118 leaves them to tell them in their own time though.

Despite his return, the nightmares are never-ending. Sometimes, he dreams about drowning, about his leg getting crushed, -- a pain he feels even when he wakes up. Or he dreams about losing Christopher, failing to keep him safe, Eddie misplacing his trust in Buck, breaking the one promise he had vowed to keep forever. He dreams about Eddie being buried alive or shot right in front of him the metallic taste of blood present on his tongue -- and he’s never able to save them.

“And I was bleeding quite a bit because I cut myself while looking for him. But I didn't notice at all. I was eh- on blood thinners so the cuts looked a little worse than they were. The blood thinners were because I had a pulmonary embolism because I had blood clots. They were caused by the screws in my leg because my leg was crushed by a firetruck.”
He's starting to think this kidnapping might not even be the worst thing that happened to Buck. He watches as his victim barely takes a breath before continuing to speak, did this man ever stop talking?

But who could blame Eddie? Having to work 24 hour shifts alongside Buck, while he looks like that. With the buttons on his uniform almost exploding his chest, is that even allowed? Should Buck get a bigger size maybe? Shouldn’t there be some safety regulations regarding it? There should be, definitely, or Eddie will end up jumping Buck in the middle of the loft with all of his colleagues around.
So for now this broom closet is the perfect alternative, (fully ignoring the safety regulations that are in place about not kissing your co-worker in a broom closet).
