Hi there! just found out abt the whole thing!
FUCK wilbur soot and anyone who stand by him. Respectfully please never interact with this work or anything else related to my account again if you do. Please do not try to defend yourself in the comments either.
I won’t talk much about the situation itself, since 1, i just found out about it and haven’t had the time to watch Shelby’s VOD yet, and 2, i just don’t feel comfortable being a source of information about something like this.
Anyways, Wilbur Soot is more than cancelled, so let’s not use that word. Wilbur Gold is an abusive, manipulative man who knew what he was doing, and offered a shitty apology that never even covered half of the abusive actions against Shelby. Wilbur should be arrested for his crimes of domestic assaults, although whether charges are pressed against him is purely up to Shelby and any other victims of his that choose to speak out in face of this.
Please don’t press for a statement from anybody. This entire ordeal is not entertainment for us, and these are real people who are dealing with the reality of one of their friends’ actions.
I, Chao, won’t be deleting or orphaning this work, simply because I don’t believe his actions should that power, though I do respect the authors who deleted and discontinued their own works.
On the topic of this fic, it’s safe to say that this fanfic is in permanent hiatus, if not discontinued entirely. I apologize to anyone who was holding out hope or anything like that. If it makes you feel any better the wip of next chapter is a cliffhanger, so i feel like it’s be worse to just post that and then dip lmao.
I offer condolences to those who are dealing with the shock, since someone who you looked up to turning out to be a bad person is never a fun experience. And to those who have been or ARE in similar positions that Shelby was in, know that you’re not alone and to reach out for help when it is safe for you to do so.
