Bucky Barnes is trying to move on with his life. Having been granted a pardon, he's to be living in Brooklyn and attending his weekly court-mandated therapy. These sessions are supposed to help, yet he doesn't feel much progress. It's not until his therapist advises him to make a life of his own-getting out in the world-do things begin to change. And it all starts with his next-door neighbor who constantly is blaring music. But a few minor encounters lead to occasional drinks and planned meals. While it's difficult opening up to a therapist, with his neighbor, it seems to come naturally.
For Bucky, that's terrifying.
Because how are two people with trust issues supposed to trust each other?
And are there any reasons why they shouldn't trust each other? -

Summary
Sam Wilson is a calm and collected person. He doesn't resort to anger and screaming, and he has a particular talent for staying calm in stressful situations. It was like fire and ice meeting when he met James Barnes, the Winter Soldier whose first reaction to almost everything was to either flee the scene or start a physical or verbal fight. Nonetheless, Sam brought out the best in Bucky and there flourished their romantic relationship.
Now they're engaged, due to marry next fall. Preparations are in order, and Sam feels like he's in some heavenly dream where nothing can go wrong. But Sam Wilson also seems to have an issue when it comes to avoiding trouble. So when Bucky doesn't come home in time for dinner, and instead appears on national television, Sam realises this may or may not be his last straw.
Hurt and betrayed, Sam gives up his role of counsellor in the relationship, and walks out without another word.
