Izuku's shadow leaps and twists, a dozen reaching hands and curls of hair. The shadows curl fingers around his shoulders, digging in enough to crease his blazer.Izuku does not visibly flinch, but to those watching him closest, his friends, they see how his jaw tenses, pupils dilating.
(They worry, his friends, they worry a lot, and they have good reason for it. Because Izuku seems to be sleeping less and less, or collapsing for thirteen hours straight; he visibly aches, wincing when he holds things too tightly, pencils and waterbottles slipping out of his hands. Sometimes he will sit and slowly tense muscle group after muscle group, hissing when some of them ache more than others-)
They keep seeing glimpses of his shadow rearing, multiple figures, hints of eyes that gleam the colours of sunsets and aurora, broad shoulders and cast-large hands and a sense of... of rot.
