They try to keep him close, month after month, year after year, because of the fear of seeing their alliance being destroyed like the previous elemental masters' alliance.

Every month, the Ninjago Fandom Wiki runs a Writing Contest based on a simple prompt. Since June of 2024, I've participated multiple times, and even when I haven't officially written or entered, I've at least come up with some idea or another.
This is a collection of those contest entries. Many of them are one-shots, some slightly longer, but mostly just little vignettes that could easily fit within Ninjago's canon. I consider most of them to also be canon to The Song of Earth and Light and Other Mythological Tales, which is why I have added this title to the collection.

It was fucked up how going to the mall with her brother was more nerve wracking than facing down armed gun men and having a literal gun pointed at her head. Then again, when guns were involved, the worst case scenario was death. Here, Shade had no idea what would happen in the worst case.
But alas, despite her anxiety, she had to go. And so at 10:03 am, she found herself sitting in the backseat of one of the many cars the mafia had at their disposal, next to Griffin. Neuro was at the front of the car, barking directions at the driver. Shade knew she shouldn't care, but she couldn't help but feel bad for the driver. Her brother was terrifying when he yelled.

Now society have grown accustomed to relying on mechs and advanced weapons to keep themselves safe.
But just because society has moved one doesn't mean elemental powers and such believes aren't still being pass down to each new generation.
Elemental masters are typically depicted as protectors or heroes, it runs in their blood. Now that the world has ceased to believe the existence of the very elemental masters that used to protect their ancestors, Cole and many other elemental master have chosen law enforcement career paths.
But something much deeper and meaningful was the reason Cole applied to this duty, he made a promise to himself to continue his mom's legacy and dreams. But during the mists of his duties he may have bumped in to the love of his life.

Maybe it's the ominous voiceover in the commercials, or the fact that it's popped up in over a dozen different locations in Ninjago City this past month alone, or the fact that it's all anyone on the internet seems to want to talk about anymore, but something about "Epiphany Enterprises," the new aromatherapy spa resort or whatever it is, just doesn't seem quite right.
Between that and the whole communal shared dream-world thing going on—not to mention their invasive butterfly infestation problem—it seems like the ninja have their work cut out for them yet again.
But surely it's nothing they can't handle. It may be a little weird that the more they look into it, the more those three things seem to be connected...but butterflies, weird dreams, and sketchy spas aren't exactly ninja-level threats anyway, right?

After the Ninja have survived the events of the Friendship Games, but still have a long way to go. So Master Wu sends the Ninja+Lloyd to train in the Everfree forest. While Morro and Nya are left behind with Master Wu. However, there's something off about where they're training. Cole is worried for Zane. Kai is a mess of fire and anger. Jay is having fun with D&d, while Lloyd is isolating himself. Nya hates her new "mentor" and Morro is starting to regret his decisions. And what is Master Wu HIDING?

Kai hadn't meant to fall back into old habits. Though he needed an outlet with everything that had gone on recently and any other option seemed far worse than this. So he turned back to fighting (just temporarily, he kept telling himself) to organise his crowded mind.
He entered a familiar place and came out with unfamiliar feelings. Feelings that surfaced when faced with an old acquaintance he hadn't seen in years. So much for sorting out his thoughts, this had just made everything ten times worse.
