The sole Armor digimon’s shoulder pads sprung from their relaxed position, hanging over the outside of his arms, to pointing directly out, while his jaw would have hit the floor if not for his helm. “Wait, what?!”
(Or I went "What if Veemon met Davis on a quest as Magnamon" and it snowballed from there.)

Takeru liked to read storybooks as a kid. He really enjoyed those stories from different places and cultures, myths and folktales. It’s not a surprise he was aiming to be a professional writer, and it was also working on his childhood memories alongside the digimon and the Chosen Children.
It’s also not a big surprise that he would find fun in writing TTRPG sessions with friends -- yes, Hikari, Iori, Daisuke, Ken and Miyako. But this time he prepared something extra fun for their new friend, Rui.

Summary
Last year I used a randomizer, putting all names of the eight Chosen Children of Digimon Adventure, their Digimon partners and Crests into a hat. This way, I tried to give myself a little writing challenge, revolving around a simple "What if...?" premise:
"How would the Chosen Children react to getting approached by the Digimon partners of their friends in certain situations - and how do they display certain Crest attributes?"
Thus, eight one shots were created that I had a lot of fun with. The stories are mostly separate from one another and take place at different parts of the original Digimon Adventure timeline. If you are into what if scenarios and like to explore different character dynamics, feel free to read along...!

Kyojinmon stopped his spinning to regard Daisuke with amusement. "You should have just let me kill you! I’ve been wanting to find out what happens when a human dies in this world," he sing-songed. "Oh well, now you get to watch your friend get deleted instead!"
"What's that supposed to mean?" Daisuke said fiercely. He glanced back at his partner. Exveemon shuddered, and a band constricted Daisuke’s lungs.
"I mean your friend here goes bye-bye. Have fun watching his code fall apart!"
A dread unlike anything he’d ever experienced robbed Daisuke of breath. He turned slowly, his partner’s outline blurring for a moment, pixelated and staticky.

Tai is too pushy, Matt isolates himself too much, Joe is so fearful that he'd even compromise his reliability in order to run away, Sora feels a lot more unsure of herself, Mimi's shelterdness and spoiled attitude force her to see a world she doesn't understand and is afraid of, TK's young innocence is shattered time and time again, and meanwhile Izzy in the background is really just losing his mind. He doesn't even really WANT to go home

Summary
("Horizon Wars" is a series based on my rewrite of Digimon Frontier. The first book follows the events of the anime while everything after that is original content.)
In times immemorial, the Digital World's people were split in two and fell into chaos. The Human and Beast Digimon fought one another fiercely for control of the realm before a mysterious angel by the name of Lucemon appeared to quell the calamity. Lucemon was named as the ruler of the Digital World and oversaw a period of peace never witnessed before in the realm's storied history. However, Lucemon eventually grew corrupt, turning against the people he once loved and becoming a tyrant and a conquerer. Fighters of the elements known as the Legendary Warriors rose up to fight against Lucemon, eventually sealing him away at the center of the Digital World. After their deaths, the Legendary Warriors passed on their power to a new generation, this time to a group of humans from the Digital World's parallel realm: Earth.
