After King Boo crashes Mario and Luigi's birthday party by kidnapping both brothers before they even get there, he and his Boos successfully invade. But after he grows bored from the lack of company, and his peace-keeping demands aren't quite kept, Princess Peach must take the place as his future bride.

It's time for Luigi to strap on the Poltergust G-00 and fight his way up this haunted hotel, so he can put the kibosh on his archrival's endgame before it's too late. The good news? This time, the green-clad ghost-fighter won't be alone.

The quartet had been adventuring all day, and finally made it into the next world as night fell.
Deciding to take a rest, they stopped at a hotel to sleep the night away.
"We could've TOTALLY made it to Bowser in one day!" Bucken-Berry said, with false bravado.
"Yeah, we could've, if YOU didn't keep throwing me into PITS!" Ala-Gold shot back accusingly, jutting a finger out at Buck.
"Hey! It was funny! Besides, YOU started it!" Buck accused back.
"Mario started it when he threw me into that Goomba!" Luigi added.
Both Toads turned to him. "Yeah, but you're BROTHERS!" Ala insisted.
"Yeah, that's normal for you two!" Buck backed him up.
"As if you two are any better!" Luigi argued. "At least Mario and I have each other's backs! Buck totally ditched you when we faced Larry!"
"He would've helped if he wasn't such a coward." Ala snarked, flashing a smug grin at Buck.
"IT WAS A TACTICAL RETREAT!" Buck insisted.
"Hey!" Mario's voice cut through the arguing. "Come on!"
The quartet headed to their hotel room, flopping out on their conveniently color coded beds.
