He’d almost done it, one day. Had snuck up to the roof, electrified with fear, pressing himself to the walls and dodging monsters floor by floor. He’d nearly collapsed once he reached the rooftop, heart hammering, breaths rocketing in and out of his chest. Holy fuck, he’d thought, I’m alive.
Alive.
He’d looked out over the rooftop, at the desecrated city below, and he’d known in an instant that he couldn’t do it. Not with the way adrenaline still zipped through his veins, the way his heart hammered away in his chest.

Summary
It was the dead of night, or what passed for night on a spaceship, and Amos was only awake because he had to take a piss. But something in ops was beeping, and if part of the ship was about to explode, he’d rather know now than later. So he stepped off the ladder-lift and took to the stairs to investigate.
That’s where he found Holden, standing in front of one of the monitors, as still and silent as a statue.
“Hey, Cap,” Amos said. “Whatcha doing up here?”
“Can you hear it?” Holden whispered.
“The beeping? Yeah, I heard it. ‘S what I came up here to check out.”
“Not that. Cara. She’s crying.”
Amos didn't know anyone named Cara, and he didn't think Holden did either.
Guess it was one of those nights, then.OR:
Holden has a vision and ends up wandering the ship in the middle of the night. Amos finds him in ops and brings him home.

But when he woke up one morning to Naomi’s pained yelp, his panicked thrashing having earned her an elbow to the face, that plan promptly went out the window.

Holden is still traumatized from the Ring station, and he's not getting any better. Bobbie is terrified of overstepping boundaries and disrupting her fragile relationship with the pack. Amos finds himself having to take on more responsibility than he'd prefer, and Naomi and Alex just wish things would go back to normal.

Basically what it says on the tin: Holden’s exposure to the Ring station changed his perception of time and gave him prophetic abilities, which comes with a whole host of new issues. Contains references to the later books (7-9), you don't have to have read them to read these fics but Holden’s visions will make a lot more sense if you have. Obligatory spoiler warning, though most of the references to the future are very vague.
