Summary
As soon as the door creaks open fully, the boy jumps back, clearly not expecting anyone to be in the room. His eyebrows furrow together slightly, as if in thought.
“Oh, wait. You’re the guy from earlier, right? Sorry, I forgot to ask your name,” The boy trails off, eyes flicking from the floor to Will’s face.
“Uh, yeah, I am.” Will replies, blinking repeatedly as if that would clear his head. “I’m Will.”
“Hi, Will,” The boy says, voice gentle. “I’m Mike.”
Will can feel his heart stutter in his chest, in the way his name sounded when the boy - Mike spoke. Lips curling around soft syllables making a simple name like ‘Will’ so… infatuating.
“Hi” He replies, slowly and drawing the syllable out for too long. Mike doesn’t move, he hangs in the door frame, waiting.
“I can leave, if you need the room” Will offers, his shoulders dropping slightly.
“What?” Mike asks incredulously, shaking his head. “No, no. I was just kind of looking for a place to be alone. But I’m assuming you are too, so maybe…maybe we could be alone together?”---

“Will, Will, it hurts. It hurts so bad” Mike sobs, resolve cracking. He didn’t mean to get so - so affected by the arguing, it just. It brought him back to when he’d come home to his parents fighting. They were always fighting.
“Oh Mike,” Will said, tugging Mike back to him gently. He leans into Will’s touch, letting his head rest on Will’s shoulder.
“Don’t you understand Mike?” Will asks, and Mike shivers as Will’s hands creep up from his neck into his hair, curling his fingers around the strands.
Mike feels the feather light brush of Will’s lips near his ear, so comforting. Until the grip Will has in his hair tightens; “You deserve the pain.” Will murmurs.
Mike gasps, writhing and twisting but Will’s grip is impossibly strong.
“W-Will stop you’re-you’re” Mike stammers, unable to get any words out.
“I’m what, Mike? Hurting you? Can you really blame me, Mike? After all the pain you caused me?” Will retorts, his grip on Mike only tightening.----

Summary
in the winter of their junior year, bucky stays over at steve's house, neither boys knowing that this night will alter their lives, and their relationship, for the better.

They lay there in silence for a while, basking in each other's presence. Steve speaks first, "Get over here, jerk". Bucky complies. Bucky shuffles around to help Steve put the pillows in order, then climbs in. Steve's bed is relatively small, but Bucky doesn't mind. Bucky drags his blanket up along with him, and attempts to wrap it around him and Steve. It works well enough.
"You love me?" Bucky whispers, voice muffled by skin and cloth. "How could I not?" Steve replies, threading his fingers through Bucky's hair.
They don’t go to sleep that night. They lay tangled together all throughout the night, talking and not talking. For hours they just be, existing in the essence of earth other, all the way until the sun peeks its’ way into the room. Golden sunlight hits every corner, and in its light, the two boys seem otherworldly, here in the magic of the early morning.-///-

Summary
Some friendships die under the pressure of one person moving away. Others can apparently survive being caught between two realms.
The rest of the Casper Crew have crossed over, but Robin Arellano isn't so ready to follow them into that pesky light. Not if that also means leaving Finney Blake behind. His friend still needs him and yeah, he needs Finney just as much. Will these two boys ever find their way back to the way things were? Or will they forever be stuck in limbo, unable to move on from the shared trauma of their past? Is it even possible to stick together when the universe is so against you?
Robin thinks Finney is worth hanging around for, so he guesses it's worth putting to the test also.

They care too much. There would be questions to make sure he’s not having now-memories of the Upside-Down, to make sure he’s not predicting the future or something. And he knows he’s not—he can feel that much—but he doesn’t particularly want to talk to his mom about killing her, especially when he pretty much did try and do just that a year and a half ago. Because some things just can’t be reassured away, and the truth is that there is an unknown part of the Upside-Down within him, entangled with his very being, and he is a liability to everyone he loves.
Or, Will's dreams torment him. He lets them. Mike wishes he wouldn't.
