Summary
“Only one tribute is to be reaped from the male pool. The accompanying tribute will be the youngest male mentor from the pool of previous victors from each district.”
---
Somewhere in district 4's suburbs, a boy gets surrounded by his family, siblings holding hands trying not to think of the unthinkable, wishing their brother won't get called.
In that same district's victor's village, another boy throws his knife at the middle of the television; nailing at the president right in the head before the screen goes dark.

Summary
Sometimes Oscar wonders if the ache behind Lando’s teeth goes away. When he won his first race in beautiful fashion, when he wins with gaps of seconds upon seconds, when he won the same race they won the WCC together while Oscar drowned in turbulent air.
He wonders if — now he’s won Monaco at and home — the rest will become simple accessories. Not that Oscar would know. He hurts with the force of fuck ups.
In his ribs, aching like they did in Hungary.

Summary
“Murder, revenge, whatever.”
“No, seriously, what are we doing?” He’s fallen into step beside Oscar, keeping an eye out for cameras. There are none. “And why do you have a crowbar?”
“Murder, revenge, whatever,” he repeats, hissing.
“Where?”
“Alpine.”

Summary
Maybe it's not Lando's finest moment that he manages to find Oscar's post race radio, caught out by Pierre's late spin and unable to start a lap. It left him stranded in P3, unable to improve into what should've been a comfortable P2, and maybe P1 has he pulled some miracle tenths from his arse.

Summary
He can tell Oscar’s not alright, more from the fact that his usually flush face is a stark white than his scent. He must’ve replaced the scent blockers before now. It doesn’t stop the wisps of burnt mint that Lando is pretty sure only he’s attuned to at this point.
What a miserable race. Don’t get him wrong, it had been fun. Keyword, had.
And now they’re both miserable… if anything, it’s hit Oscar harder than him.

Summary
Oscar arrives in North London with nothing and no one. A broken past, a pull-out mattress, and a name that gets him in more trouble than it’s worth.
He wasn’t supposed to stay. He wasn’t supposed to race. And he definitely wasn’t supposed to fall for the boy who sees everything but never lets anyone in.
But the streets don’t care what you’re supposed to do. And neither does Lando.Bookmarked by slideleftt

Summary
Lando never meant to get involved —he was just helping. Oscar’s heat hit hard and early, catching him off guard. No time to bring in outside help, no one else trusted enough to handle it, so Lando stepped in. It was supposed to be simple. A one-time thing. No strings.
But nothing about it was simple.
Not the way Oscar clung to him like he couldn’t get enough. Not the soft, helpless noises that slipped from his lips. Not the quiet, intimare aftermath —the way he stayed curled against Lando, silent and warm, like letting go would undo him. The arrangement had been clear: just enough to get them through.
The season moves on like nothing happened —races, flights, briefings. Oscar is steady as ever, focused and quiet. But Lando still feels it, stumbles through, half-aware, towards something that feels bigger than either of them planned for. Something that might not be temporary at all.

Summary
Lando saw one message—“which gives off more engagement ring energy: diamond, gold, or platinum?”—from his best mate, his ride-or-die, his official roommate and teammate Oscar… and instantly spiralled into a full-blown identity crisis, an emotional implosion, and possibly a parallel dimension where nothing made sense anymore.

Summary
Oscar’s usually swoopy hair was standing in several different directions. His eyes — full of joy and something warm, when he locked eyes with Lando, something that the older couldn’t, shouldn’t acknowledge — glowed in a devastating way, every time the lights hit him just right, while he was jumping up and down with the beat, his sweat — and maybe even beer — soaked shirt riding up with every hop, showing of a silver of his pale, toned stomach.
Shortly, Lando certainly didn’t have a crush on his teammate, but yeah, he was totally fucked.
