Buck kept thinking of all these big goals he was planning on achieving but then thought about the little things, like his goal of learning about the entire periodic table to help Christopher with his homework, he needed to buy Maddie that necklace she was eyeing for her next birthday, and even the pile of dirty dishes imitating Mount Everest in his kitchen sink back in his loft. It was bizarre the sorts of things one thinks of as they are dying and Buck shed a tear as he reminded himself of all of them. All he wanted was just five more minutes to wash up his dishes.
Buck spends a shift at the 118 flipping between the old injury on his leg and rehashing the memories of how his leg came to be.
