16 students found themselves trapped in Hope's Peak Academy by the infamous Monokuma. In order to escape the school, they must commit a murder and get away with it, or be executed trying. At first, nobody believed that anyone would be willing to kill each other. Why would they? They are classmates, after all. Then the bodies began to pile on, and soon everyone realizes that not everyone will make it out of this killing game alive...
The same 16 students make a return in a new version of the first story of the series. With additional scenarios and altered cases, this story will be a different take of the events of the story that began the series.

Over the past few months, our admissions office has meticulously selected the next batch of sixteen students that will attend our school.
Those sixteen students never got the chance to attend, however. Instead, they've been forced into a killing game where all hope is seemingly lost. Escape is only ensured to those that gamble with their lives: one must kill another without being discovered, sacrificing everyone else in the process. The next day, though? He didn’t show up to breakfast. Shuichi wasn’t in his dorms, either, so everyone split up to search.
