They attend amongst many others for the same reason, promised the opportunity of a lifetime. What they all thought would be a dream come true, turns into a horrific nightmare right before their eyes. The iron skewer is impaled in his heart and blood leaks from the wound, staining his clothes red and seeping to the ground below. The boy has a shocked expression on his face—eyes wide and lips parted. It’s a gruesome sight, but something else about the skewered heart makes Hajime stop in his tracks. It’s a gift, he realizes with growing horror. Teruteru’s corpse is practically wrapped like a present, and when Hajime closes his eyes, he sees a gift tag with his own name on it.
Teruteru flirts with Hajime one too many times.
