It was already 9:00 p.m. when Michael, who usually came home much earlier, made his entrance. Something in his attitude was different. Instead of the usual brusqueness and disregard for the rules of the house, he seemed to be enveloped in a kind of calm. He ignored Dad, who was in the living room, and headed straight for him and Elizabeth.
Evan's surprise was total when his brother, with an expression that was halfway between despair and tenderness, hugged them both. It wasn't the kind of gesture she would expect from him, much less after having seen him tease her with that unpleasant mask.
From the corner of the room, William, the boys' father, watched the scene with a mixture of surprise and confusion. The way his eldest son had behaved, the abrupt change in his behavior, and the way he was clinging to his brothers, all of that was a mystery to him. He stopped his reprimand to watch, wondering what had caused such a transformation in his son. The question was drawn in his mind: What had happened for his stupid son to change? Was it a simple emotional reaction, or was there something deeper behind this sudden change?

I followed the series for awhile, and its pretty good.
But the whole romance aspect gets really annoying. Everyone gets a partner, and at some point you are unable to read it platonically. It makes a lot of things towards the end start to feel very forced, and I started skimming over all of the "owo lovey dovey" parts. I'm bookmarking it because I liked everything up to the third half because of this.

Summary
Set around 10 years after the burning of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place (FNAF 6) and 40 years after the events that started it all, the lingering spirits of the Afton family - and everyone connected to the tragedies surrounding one in particular - are brought together under strange and worrisome circumstances. Deciding it could possibly be for the better, Michael offers to let them all stay in his house, with one condition: they all have to at least try to get along and be civil.
As things unfold, both within and beyond the Afton household, secrets come to light and the lingering memories return. All of it just in time for the grand opening - and unfortunate eventual closing - of a new location: Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex.
(Alternatively: Can you make a found family with the following? A living zombie with sentient wiring in place of his organs, a killer who can never quite keep his coffin shut, a dancer and a singer from deep below ground, and a child who lets his nightmares haunt him? It's more likely than you'd think!)

Michael Afton had expected to die when his insides got removed and replaced with the unholy amalgamation known as Ennard in 1991. In the years since he has desperately sought to end the chain of suffering he had started. Now, in the burning remains of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, he thinks he might finally get to rest, that his crumbling body can finally give way.
That is, until he finds himself stumbling into a ball pit and returning -somehow- to his thirteen year old body, before everything had gone to shit. I tossed the timeline into a blender, and this came out.
The original idea was to just have William run away after stabbing Charlie, Henry was able to get her to a hospital in time and then adopted the Afton kids.
But then The Plot took over and now Vanessa and Gregory are still as unfortunate as ever and Glitchtrap is a sadistic and goofy creature.
Still less deaths and everyone gets a happier ending though. Oh, also the og title about no major characters dying is now a lie Mrs. Afton is dead.
