The Dreamer accepted the Truth. Stranger was supposed to die.

Stranger needs to navigate this new world while pretending he belongs, searching for a new purpose after he has already fulfilled what he thought was his only one.The Armed Detective Agency has stumbled upon a strange teen who claims to have complete amnesia save for his name, a name which is odd in its own right. Some members are sure he is lying through his teeth, but they are unsure whether he can be trusted or not. How long will they play along? Can they provide him with the help he needs, when the truth comes out?

Stranger, having failed in getting the Dreamer to accept the truth following the Hikikomori route. somehow gets sent back to the past, in the final year before the incident.
Now he's stuck inside the mind of 12 year old Basil, while also being able to communicate and interact with the world through him.
Meanwhile from Basil's point of view, an Eldritch being has just made itself home in his own mind granting him powers for seemingly no discernable reason, Why or what this entity is? Is now Basil's problem, and another headache for him to figure out along with his new Eldritch powers.

Summary
Stranger is tired. He's been helping Mari get Sunny to the truth for years, now, never rewarded with a break, never congratulated for his (admittedly vain, but he's trying) efforts. Fresh out of another fight with (and death) with Omori, he's resentful and at his limit, especially since he got to re-experience the worst day of his life while his body was repairing his wounds.
When Mari brushes off his feelings yet again, he can't take it anymore, and he snaps. He blames her for his pain, his grief, for letting in the wolf that his best friend has become due to her actions, and leaving him to fight it alone. He's sick of letting himself be ruined because of her- and perhaps that's all that needs to happen for the both of them to finally come to an understanding.
