Mark, confused, would try to fix it. Roger would get angry at Mark, even though he knew full well that Mark loved fixing things.

“Why?” Mark asked hesitantly. “You never told me why. You just said it wasn’t working. Is that- is that true?” Roger used to be in love with Mimi. Mark couldn’t understand why Roger was so damn depressed if he didn’t even want her back.
“Well, it wasn’t.” Roger said, staring off with that faraway look, like he was still all the way in Santa Fe. “She wasn’t- you know Mimi. She’s the sweetest. But she realized my eyes kept catching on- that I kept looking at-” his mouth looked as if it was trying to form the words but simply couldn’t. “I wasn’t trying to,” He said weakly.
“Who?” Mark asked quickly, hands twisting in his lap.
“Men.” Roger muttered.
