Children are still being thrown into shelters, young men and women unable to find jobs, the sick and elderly rarely find the care they need. Places such as BigHit are few to come by, however, they are a safehaven for those with powers.

There was a steady pulse of life throughout the facility. Machines powering on one by one after years of disuse and abandonment; the sound of shoes squeaking on old flooring. There was a lot of work to do: walls to fix; experimentation rooms to build; machines to replace and upgrade. But at it’s very core, it was a usable space. The government had abandoned the building long ago after mass information leak about the experiments that were previously ran there. As a result, the building had been closed down and the government had removed any and all connections that it had to the experimentation that had previously went on in the now-abandoned facility.
The little boy looked confused, apprehensive even, but rather than question, rather than ask why he was there, he simply nodded. She’d been right in thinking that mentioning his mom would get the boy to agree to anything. He was so easy to read, so easy to predict what he was going to do, say and what he was going to react the strongest to.

“Yeah,” Astrid says, looking not at Tuff’s arm but at his face, pink cheeks, wide eyes and feeling much the same. Her heart continues to hammer away in her chest, and she thinks, but it was only on his hands, not his arm, and not on mine.She thinks of the flame licking up her skin and the warmth, like a hot spring instead of searing. She had screamed, but with the worry thick in her chest jumping up out of her throat and not because they were hurt.
Astrid accidentally puts her hand in the fire, learns something about herself and falls in love. But maybe not in that order.

The sniper wielding Jumper with a big ego and an even bigger heart.
However when he's betrayed by a fellow Jumper and pursued by Paladins one night the last thing he expected was to be saved and kissed into submission by none other than the legendary Chameleon. The appearance changing Jumper who has never once been caught by Paladins. Nor did he expect to keep running into him. Nor fall in- NOPE! Not going there!

His parents will say he collects a lot of odd things, likes to make too many unnecessary explosions (quirk or not), and can be so quiet that people won't know he's there. His childhood friend will say he's a little weird, switches from polite speech to swears-a-lot at the drop of a hat, and has the habit of giving things away as much as he collects them. His classmates and teachers in U.A will say he's too nosy for his own good, rummages through all the pots in the campus way too much, and is often unfazed by anything thrown his way. No matter how bizarre it may be.
Regardless, they all think he'll be a great hero.
