Summary
Eloise Marie Thompson was born on a sunny day in Hershey, Pennsylvania to eighteen-year-old Rebecca Thompson. She grew up with a single-parent, though that term was used loosely. Her mother was more interested in partying than raising her. It had only been the last three years that Rebecca decided to step it up, so naturally she had to die in a car accident on her way to work. It had taken the social worker a few days to get a copy of Eloise's birth certificate, and that was how she learned that she did, in fact, have a father.
Evan Charles Buckley.

Summary
Adriana doesn’t tell their parents that she’s going to LA. She doesn’t tell Eddie, either—or ask, for that matter.
She does ask Chris, and he thinks it’s a good idea—says as much, on the phone, and doesn’t say much else.
“Buck will probably be hovering,” is what Chris does volunteer.
It still surprises her when the man who opens the door is not Eddie. It’s—Captain America, is the thing that actually comes to mind—a man close to a foot taller than she is, if not more than that, with blond curls and broad shoulders, and he’s got a question in his very blue eyes that’s probably less friendly than the one he actually asks her.
“Uh,” he says. “Can I help you?”
—
Or: Adriana arrives in LA. Maddie has been here the whole time.

Summary
“I just—I don’t want you to be alone,” said Eddie, softly, like an admission.
Join the fucking club, Buck thought. It was funny, but none of his laughs were coming out right tonight. “I am alone, Eddie.”
“Buck, I—”
“She wants my kidney.” There it went; Buck never could keep anything inside. Could never keep the feelings contained, could never stop them from spilling out over the people nearest him. “That’s what fucking happened, okay? My dad needs a kidney donor and they remembered why they bothered having me in the first place. Is that what you wanted to hear? That my parents finally found a use for me after all these years?”

A request from his mom tears open old wounds for Buck. From 800 miles away, Eddie tries to stitch him back together.

Summary
Eddie’s eyes were studying Buck’s face, and whatever he saw there made him say, “there’s no way you can keep this from Maddie.”
“No,” Buck folded immediately. “I could try, but . . .”
Eddie’s mouth quirked into a smile, showing a dimple, and it was literally heroic of Buck to leave the house with all that going on. “Tell Maddie,” Eddie offered. “Swear her to secrecy. And we’ll just keep it to ourselves until Chris is back on Friday.”
He was so smart. His best friend was so smart and also wanted to kiss him and also said they were practically engaged.
“Good plan,” said Buck, fighting gravity to continue his way out the door. “It’s just one week. How hard could it be?”
---
On a very normal Sunday, Buck and Eddie confess their feelings for each other; what follows is a week of the least normal behavior the LAFD has ever seen.
