“When you denied an alliance with me, I found other means of quenching my thirst.”
“For violence and depravity?” she shot back.
“For vengeance,” he hissed. “Just as you sought yours. Keep your righteousness to yourself. I care not for it. These Men, these Númenóreans, fought against me in the Great War. Slew countless lives. With their pride and their arrogance in their mighty goodness. They thought they were better than the rest of us as you yourself believed you were better than me.” His voice dropped to a whisper. “I wanted to see them suffer. I have achieved so much more than that.”
Written for an anonymous tumblr prompt: During Ar-Pharazôn’s rule of Númenor when Sauron holds the position of the High Priest of Melkor, Galadriel is captured in the middle of a war, imprisoned, and handed over to him as a sacrifice to be made in the Temple of the High Priest, but Sauron has other plans. From Akallabêth to the founding of Gondor, unlikely allies are forged.

Tick-tack, tick-tack.
The sounds of the pendulum reverberated through the well-sized office space, where rows of shelves and drawers went in several directions. The wood tile floor with evidence of being cleaned, shown in the reflection that bounced off of Peter. The ceiling looked as if it belonged a few decades back, yet newer in a sense.
When Peter glanced across the desk in front of him littered with magazines and papers alike, he was met face-to-face with the boss in question. White-collared button up shirt, a jacket that lounged on a chair nearby, obscured pants that he could not see properly from beneath the desk. But the most recognizable of them all: A thick, toothbrush mustache.
And his eyes trained on the ticking pendulum. As each small sphere swung back and forth into the others to create the seemingly endless, amusing momentum.
“Uh, Mister Jameson?” Peter interrupted after a long moment of silence.
Jameson looked up, slowly getting up from his chair. “Parker.” When he put his hand on the chair, he only asked one question:
“What do you know about whale cum?”
